About Virtually Real

Virtually Real, Inc. began in 1993 with computer models for architectural visualizations and accident reconstructions.

In 1995 we focused on visual impact studies (beginning with the Kingston (NY) Business Park) and architectural visualizations. Virtually Real has provided models for more than 400 projects ranging from Vermont State to Westchester County, New York City and Long Island, NY.

Computer models include towers, residential, commercial, and municipal buildings, terrain and landscaping models, water tanks, and other engineering and architectural models.

Virtually Real is familiar with the development of accurate field work references including the selection of viewpoints, surveys, and field markers for photograph references.  (See “How to do a Visual Impact Study on this site).

All models are physically accurate as to scale, orientation, and placement in existing photographs. Photometric lighting is possible when the needed lighting information is provided. (Note: for exterior photographic HDR images are needed. Virtually Real can advise on how to generate these images.)

Virtually Real has graphics capabilities, providing printed and interactive digital media needed for the presentation of your projects, including the building of websites.

In addition to computer modeling Virtually Real has provided instructional services of computer modeling for engineering and architectural firms (including IBM, Rotron, and Stainless Design Corporation, etc.) through Ulster County Community College's Business Resource Center (NY) and Cambridge Learning Center, Poughkeepsie, NY.

Virgil Johnson is a former licensed California State general contractor.

Virtually Real uses the latest upgrades in standard engineering, architectural, and graphics software including AutoCad, 3D Studio Max, Photoshop, and Revit, along with various landscaping and terrain software. Rendering is done with Mental Ray software.
